Andrew Thomas explains the Rainbow Map

In this podcast interview I chat with Andrew Thomas about his work in developing the Rainbow Map. You will resonate with this material if you are interested in Stephen Porges’s Polyvagal Theory, Dan Seigel’s Window of Tolerance, the late Francine Shapiro’s work on developing eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Pat Ogden’s work on Sensorimotor Therapy, and the work of Bessel Van de Kolk demonstrating how practice that integrates the mind, brain and body is a therapeutically effective way of working with clients experiencing PTSD.

Andrew works through a modality which he terms Trigger Based Therapy from which the Rainbow Map is a spin off tool. He integrates the Rainbow Map into his client counselling and psychotherapeutic work when it appears that trauma/PTSD related affects such as anger, anxiety and/or depression are having an unwanted impact on their life. His Trigger Based Therapy is an integration of a number of mainstream therapeutic modalities and was developed from his own research and development.

Training on using the Rainbow Map is offered by Andrew for counsellors and therapists as part of a CPD programme. I attended one of the workshops and I would highly recommend training in the Rainbow Map which is a 6 hour event. The link below gives 20% off the online Rainbow Map workshop reducing the price from £45 to £36, of which 1/3 of that goes to the charity Shelter. (I do not benefit from any sales).
